Prof. Dr. Bharat Singh was a lecturer at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India). He was the Head of the Foreign Language Course (Hindi) Department in New Delhi. He obtained his PhD (Linguistics) from Agra University in 1985. He specialises in teaching Hindi as second & foreign language. He is also involved in institutional material production and various research publications. He has published several books, articles and dictionaries. He is truly a passionate academic who takes part in various radio talk programmes like the Hindi Hi SamparkBhasaKyun? andSahityarachna: KyunAurKaise? – just to name a few..
Prof. Dr. Bharat Singh has vast experience teaching Hindi to non-native speakers or foreigners in India. He has also prepared audio visual teaching aids (in Hindi) for Korean students. Prof. Dr.Jeeni was the Head of the Department of Linguistics & Translation at Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) in New Delhi. She has now retired. Her area of expertise involves Hindi literature, Teaching Methodology – Hindi as second & foreign language and applied linguistics. She also served as Regional Director of Central Hindi Institute at Guwahati and Shillong (North East, India).
Prof. Dr.Jeeni lectured at the Peking University in Beijing for few years. During her term in Beijing, she regularly edited the “Chin Sachitra” and was involved in China International Radio Broadcast programmes on Indo-China: educational ties. Prof. Dr.Jeeni has published several books and dictionaries on comparative study of Hindi – Mizo (a language used in North East India) and has commendable years of experience teaching Hindi to non-native speakers. Her participation presents a special kind of lead and members will find her contribution very useful.
